How and where to sell Pokémon cards — marketplaces compared
Cardmarket, eBay, local marketplaces, Facebook groups or a card shop? Where you get the most, what fees you pay and how to prepare your cards.
Step 1: know what you have
Sort cards into valuable singles (holos, ex, full arts, vintage), mid-value cards worth a euro or two, and bulk commons sold by the hundred. Check values in our search or the collection calculator, or import a file into My collection.
Step 2: grade the condition
Condition causes most disputes. Inspect corners, edges and the surface under a strong light. Our guide to card condition grades explains Mint to Poor. Under-grading costs nothing; over-grading means returns.
Where to sell — comparison
| Where | Best for | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cardmarket | singles | buyers across Europe, transparent prices, payment protection | sales fee, shipping abroad |
| eBay | high-value cards, graded cards | huge international audience | fees, competition from fakes |
| Local marketplaces | bundles, bulk | low fees, local pickup | haggling, scam risk off-platform |
| Card shop | whole collections | fast, no shipping | pays well below market |
Singles or a bundle?
Sell cards worth more than the shipping cost individually; group the rest into themed lots and sell commons by weight.
How to ship
- Sleeve every valuable card and put it in a toploader.
- Sandwich it between cardboard in a padded envelope or box.
- Use tracked and insured shipping for expensive cards and photograph the package before sending.
When to sell
New-set prices usually fall in the first weeks after release; older cards follow trends. Watch the price history and our weekly market report.
