Why are there so many versions?
Charizard is the best-selling Pokémon, so it returns in almost every era. In one set the same card can appear as a Double Rare, an Ultra Rare full art, a Special Illustration Rare (usually the set’s chase card) and a gold Hyper Rare, plus promos from boxes and events.
How to identify your Charizard ex
- Card number “123/165” — a first number higher than the second means a secret rare.
- Set symbol and regulation mark (a letter in a box, e.g. G, H, I).
- Rarity symbol — stars: two black stars for Double Rare, gold stars for the top rarities.
